AJW supplies products to build Amy`s annex
Four years ago, Amy suffered a near-fatal reaction to nuts at a restaurant during her holiday in Hungary. Roger, 69, and Sue Shead, 62, are caring for their daughter, Amy, 30.
As their daughter needed critical care, Roger and Sue sold their property in Benfleet to purchase a home in Westcliff. The money would also go towards building an annex with bathroom facilities for Amy and her carer.
Ian Freshwater, managing director of Maldon Building Services (MBS) kindly offered to build a two-bedroom annex at a fraction of a cost.
Ian commented “It has been an incredible privilege to run this build, the support of all involved has been overwhelming. I wish to thank each person individually, we couldn’t have brought the project this far without them.”
Roger and Sue felt very blessed to receive such a kind offer from the company and their contractors.
Sue said: “Both Roger and I are overwhelmed and grateful for the generosity shown by MBS builders and their contractors, along with the incredible enthusiasm shown for getting the work underway. Their contribution to our construction is a huge help to us, allowing us to be nearer to the time when we can bring our beloved Amy home”.
Chris Bennion Assistant Branch Manager of AJW Distribution commented:
“As a major regional roofing distributor and as a company that is happy to support community projects, when Amy May Trust came to us, we were pleased to help. It has been a pleasure to have been involved with this fantastic cause and allow Amy to return home”
