AJW Summer Party 2018
This year we held our third Summer Party which is dedicated to all of the AJW staff and their families to say thank you for their hard work and dedication of AJW over the past year and we are proud to say that this year’s party was a huge success.
We worked with local event production company ‘Jezo’s’ ago and they didn’t fail to impress our staff with their exciting and extremely well organised event. This year we held the party at Quay Mill in their exceptional marquee. Although it was probably slightly large for our 104 guests it was the perfect venue with the vast inside space used for the bar, a photo booth, candy floss and popcorn machine, plus a snowboard simulator and a Nurf gun game. In this space was also a stage and table for the staff awards which we held at the event.
Outside we had Water Zoorbing, an inflatable slide, inflatable beat the goalie and a last man standing game. Each of the large games involved a competition where the top of the leader board was awarded a ‘Winners’ vest. This created some healthy competition between the guests and was those who wore the vests were extremely proud.
The venue has a lovely outside area which was ideal for our event as we were extremely lucky with the weather as the sun shone all day long. Everyone made the most of the outside space socialising with those from other depots and also making the most of the activities.
Due to the FA cup being on the same time we had to plan our event around kick off. So at 4.00 we asked everyone to sit in the marquee and surprised the staff with an ‘Awards Ceremony’. Jezo the presenter made this by his witty and funny comments through-out the presentations, especially for those who couldn’t attend and so were not there to collect their trophy. We are extremely proud of the dedication from our staff and so wanted to acknowledge their individual achievements. This will become a yearly event and so I hope the staff who won don;t become to attached to their trophy.
After the awards were presented we surprised our Managing Director with a presentation to celebrate 20 years of AJW. Alan had no idea this was happening and as he is not one who likes to be centre of attention we tried to keep this short. Jezo did a fantastic job with embarrassing Alan the best he could and we even managed to surprise with a couple of guest of honor which was fabulous.
Lastly we introduced Alan to our new mascot who we have named ‘Alan’. Watch out for the press release about Alan and keep an eye out for him appearing on our website.
After these presentations everyone continued on with the party. We had a race night and karaoke in the evening followed by a disco. As you can imagine we had quite a few who thoroughly enjoyed the karaoke.
