We are now looking for a Yard Operative and Trade Counter sales person to join our growing business and become a key part of our day-to-day operations of our Bury depot

The Role
This is a hands-on position where no two days are the same. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring the yard operates efficiently, safely, and accurately, while delivering an outstanding level of service to everyone who visits our site.
Experience in the roofing industry is preferred but not essential, as full training will be provided. What matters most is the right attitude, a willingness to learn, and pride in doing the job properly.
What you’ll be doing
• Maintaining a clean, tidy, and safe yard environment
• Picking and preparing customer orders accurately and on time
• Loading delivery vehicles and customer collections from picking notes
• Receiving deliveries, checking stock, and storing materials correctly
• Carrying out stock checks and reporting shortages or damages
• Using forklifts safely and in line with company procedures
• Serving customers at the trade counter and handling sales enquiries
• Preparing customer orders for collection and delivery
• Assisting in the yard with loading and unloading materials
• Keeping stock organised and ensuring the yard remains safe and tidy
• Providing product advice and support to customers
• Ensuring customers and suppliers receive a professional, efficient, and friendly service
• Working collaboratively with the rest of the branch team

A forklift licence and previous yard or building materials experience would be an advantage but are not essential.
