Meet Michael Stringer
our Sales Executive for Cambridgeshire
Where were you born?
I was born In Cambridge, in March 24th 1992
Introduce us to your family
At 16 I decided College wasn’t for me, My Mum gave me an ultimatum;
Either find a job or move out, I’m sure you can guess which option I chose.
I printed off 100 CVs and began dropping them off to local business’s, not knowing what/who I wanted to be.
The 1st company I dropped my CV to, I met the MD, and before handing him my CV he hired me on the spot. I worked my way through every position, becoming their youngest manager at 21 years old. I enjoyed the responsibility of running the branch, however my passion came from the sales side.
Do you have any pets?
I don’t have any pets… yet. However I want a black and tan Jack Russell who I will name Harvey.
What do you love?
I love fitness and staying in shape. Not just for the vanity (my co-workers will disagree) but it helps me to stay active/focused throughout the day.
I also LOVE red wine & Suits (TV programme).
What do you hate?
I hate any form of negativity, I always try to find the positives in everything.
I also HATE macaroni cheese!
What kind of person are you?
Who am I?
I am an incredibly honest, hardworking individual and I have to give everything 110% (or why bother at all). Nothing motivates me more than doing well and I find the harder I work the greater the reward.
Customer service is my biggest strength, I will always put my customers first.
What brought you to AJW?
In 2014 I decided to make a big move to AJW. I knew this would challenge me as I hadn’t done field sales before.
Along with the Sawston BM (Darren Hawkins) we managed to open a new branch (Sawston) between us with our contacts combined.
How long have you worked for AJW?
Just over 3 years, since 2014.
Anything else to add?
In the next few years I will become a Regional Sales Manager. This would entail greater responsibility, managing a team of sales reps and ensuring company sales targets are met.
In 10 years’ time I would like to become a director/partner (If I haven’t won the lottery by then!)
