Tell us about yourself and your role at Marley Eternit

As the Commercial Trainer for Cedral fibre cement weatherboard cladding at Marley Eternit, I am responsible for designing and delivering technical training to installers and suppliers in the installation of Cedral weatherboard.

What training does Marley Eternit offer for Cedral?

At Marley Eternit we deliver a range of theory and practical based training courses that aid installers to improve their knowledge and services. We offer introductory and advanced courses which cover how to correctly install Cedral as well as the benefits of specifying Cedral Lap and Cedral Click.

As Cedral Click is the UK’s first and only fibre cement tongue and groove external cladding material, it’s essential that we provide contractors with the support and guidance on how to correctly install the material. The training courses are a great way for us to demonstrate how Cedral is used, whilst also strengthening our relationships.

At the beginning of 2017, we launched our Cedral Estimating Course, which enables installers to specify the correct amount of material for each individual project, ensuring new builds and renovations are carried out quickly and efficiently.

As a manufacturer, why is it important to offer training to installers?

As Cedral continues to grow in popularity with housebuilders and contractors who are looking to adopt new approaches in housing construction, we have a responsibility to ensure we provide the greatest level of understanding and resources.

This is why we have launched our new Cedral Select Programme to ensure homeowners receive the highest quality installations.

What is the Cedral Select Programme?

Cedral Select is designed to advise installers on how they can use new trends and materials, whilst also offering the opportunity to become a recognised Cedral Installer. The benefits of becoming a Cedral Select member allows contractors and specifiers to be promoted on Cedral’s website to any potential clients within their region, whilst also receiving ongoing support and training courses.

Installers can apply for Cedral Select by e-mailing [email protected]
