Kingspan makes decision to switch all panel product range to Quadcore.

It was Kingspan’s intent that at some point towards the end of 2023 or the early part of 2024 that they would switch their remaining panel products to the high performing QuadCore solutions. They had agreed with their chemical suppliers that they would continue to supply the raw material needed for Kingspan to blend their PIR product up until the early part of 2024.

However, as a result of small volume runs one of their suppliers has notified them of their intent to cease any further supplies to Kingspan.

There are alternative suppliers of similar products that Kingspan could use, however all of their regulatory and other accreditations are based on the exact product that they supply and therefore any change, however slight, will invalidate the accreditations for the PIR based products.

As a result of the supply challenges, Kingspan have taken the decision to switch all their panel product range to QuadCore. However, before they are able to do this, they have to re-test their products to maintain regulatory compliance and this will take some time.

Based on current estimated test dates, Kingspan believe that they will be in a position to offer regulatory compliant products from the 1st July 2023.

The products affected will be temporarily removed from the website to allow Kingspan to re-calculate the U-Values for each product. You will be aware that one of the benefits of QuadCore is its enhanced thermal performance and so they are planning to retain the existing product thicknesses, therefore using QuadCore as the insulant will automatically deliver improved performance metrics that will positively impact a buildings energy efficiency. Once they have the precise thermal performance characteristics calculated, the full product details will be reloaded onto the website – this is anticipated to be only a few weeks.

The products affected by the above changes are Kingzip roof panel, KS1000SRW panel and Lo-Pitch roof panel. In addition to the changes noted affecting these three products, due to very low demand Kingspan have taken the decision to remove their Five Crown panel products from the range going forward, so with immediate effect this product is no longer available.
