Introduce Yourself
Hi, I’m Rob the Branch Manager here at AJW Norwich, I have worked for the company for 3 years & been the manager here for just under 9 months & in the roofing industry for nearly 6 years.
In my spare time I am I massive sports fan & have played basically everything going over the years, but old age (31) a dodgy knee & a 16 month old have turned me into a weekend armchair fan!
What do you love?
Sales! I think everyone successful in this industry has a passion for it! No matter where my career takes me I think I will always have that buzz for securing a big job or a new site!
Outside of work I am a big family man & love a round of golf when time allows!
What do you hate?
Laziness and a defeatist attitude
Any hidden talents or hobbies?
Not sure about talent, but I have double jointed thumbs… Does that count?
If you could learn to do anything, what would it be?
I’d love to learn to fly! My grandad worked on spitfires in WWII so it’s always been an interest for me.
What is your favorite country that you visited?
Mexico! We went on our last child free holiday before Covid in 2019. Beautiful country with amazing people.
Fun fact – I actually drove back from Gatwick after an overnight flight home from this holiday straight to my interview with AJW. I was tired and freezing but obviously still managed to make a half decent impression!
What does your job involve?
As Branch Manager I have full accountability for the P&L of the branch, and making sure our customers get the best service possible! I set pricing, ensure we have the correct stock on the ground, purchased at the best rates & generally ensure my guys in sales, the yard & the delivery drivers have everything they need to focus on our customers. I do still like to get involved in the nitty gritty though so don’t be surprised if you see me on a forklift or cleaning the trade counter! I like to try & lead by example.
What do you enjoy about your job?
Without a doubt the people. We have fantastic relationships with our regular customers & have a good laugh when they come in, AJW as a company also has the best working relationships across all branches that I have known.
