2025 was the year we proudly supported Parkinson’s UK as our Charity of the Year.
The charity was nominated by Brian Cooper from our Norwich depot, after his father was diagnosed with Parkinson’s by his GP in 2022. As Brian and his family quickly discovered, Parkinson’s can be an incredibly challenging condition to live with. While they were grateful for the support provided by the Julian Hospital, it became clear that Parkinson’s does not receive the same level of public awareness or funding as many other conditions.
This is despite the fact that around 153,000 people in the UK live with Parkinson’s, making it the fastest-growing neurological condition in the world — and yet one that remains largely overlooked.
While this charity was very close to Brian personally, as we began to promote Parkinson’s UK as our Charity of the Year, it became clear just how many people within our wider community have been affected by Parkinson’s in some way.
Each year, our company fundraising target is £15,000, and we are incredibly proud to announce that this year we raised £15,679.00.
This amazing total is a true reflection of the commitment of our incredible AJW team, who always get behind our chosen charity, as well as the strong relationships we have with our suppliers and customers. Their continued generosity and support play a huge part in helping us raise such a fantastic amount.
Throughout the year, funds were raised through a variety of activities, including:
- Easter Egg Raffle
- AJW Annual Trade Days
- Golf Day sponsorship, raffle, auction and donations
- Bike Ride
- Cambridge City donations
- Conor’s head shave
- Christmas Spin the Wheel game
- Individual donations
We would like to dedicate this post to saying a huge thank you to every single person who supported, donated, or took part.
You truly helped us make a difference — thank you.
