After a quick break, we moved on to the evening entertainment. Jezo kicked this off with a game of heads and tails. Everyone put at least £5 into the donation envelope, and the winner was presented with £300 this year! Congratulations to Tom Nelly from Ashe Construction for winning!
This led to a presentation from Steve from East Anglian Air Ambulance; he spoke about how the money we raised would support the charity. Showcasing what the charity does, what they use the money for, and how they can support us with their local free courses. It’s incredible to learn that in 2022/2023 they took a total of 2,795 missions. 26% of these are cardiac arrests, and 22% are road traffic collisions. Over the next year, EAAA aims to train 20,000 people in how to perform CPR and to use a defibrillator.
EAAA are 100% run by charity donations and so relies on public donations and community fundraising. In 2022/2023, they have to raise at least £3,750 for a mission to develop and deliver a sustainable 24/7 service. To see what incredible work the EAAA do click here.
Up next Jezo took control of the stage and started the auction. We were donated a huge amount of prizes this year and are so incredibly thankful for all the donations received. The prizes ranged from four balls at local golf courses to a weekend away, boxes of wine, a Cambridge United football shirt, a garden bench, plus lots more.
We are so proud to announce that we raised a total of £6,928 from the generosity of those on the evening alone! We also raised £4,084 from sponsors for the day!
Thank you to every single person who bought raffle tickets and auction items; to those who attended and bought drinks during the day and paid the registration fee, and finally to those businesses who donated gifts and sponsored the event.
We are extremely grateful for your kind and generous donations. For anyone who would like to donate and help us reach our target then click here.
