Introducing Kingspan Insulated Panels, an advanced building systems supplier

Kingspan has been a key supplier to AJW since we opened in 1999

Kingspan Insulated Panels is a global leader in the design, development and delivery of advanced building envelope systems. This encompasses everything from the steel frame and high-performance insulated wall and roof panels, to ancillaries and integrational technologies such as daylighting, fall protection and energy generation solutions. We have partnered with AJW since its formation, helping its customers to construct efficient and long-lasting buildings for a variety of sectors: from warehousing and showrooms to offices and schools.

Products

The majority of our offering is focused around our insulated roof and wall panel systems. Incorporating a metal facade, insulation and waterproofing in a single panel, these products are quick and easy to build, with significant onsite health and safety benefits. For example, when used in roofing applications, they can provide a safe, walkable platform as soon as they are properly affixed to the structure.

In addition to improving installation times, these panels can offer high levels of thermal, structural and fire performance, particularly as a growing number of systems now feature our innovative QuadCore™ insulation technology. Developed for enhanced performance, the closed-cell structure of the material can achieve a thermal conductivity (lambda) value of just 0.018 W/mK, resulting in far less thermal transfer than other commonly used materials. For example, man-made mineral fibre has 89% more thermal transfer than QuadCore™, based on the same thickness. . This is backed through our industry leading, 40-year warranty – confirming the insulation will retain its specified thermal performance for the stated period. A number of QuadCore™ panel systems have also passed the requirements of rigorous insurer fire tests, such as those created by FM Global and the Loss Prevention Standard (LPS).

Whilst these panels can help to create thermally efficient buildings on their own, to optimise safety, aesthetics and energy performance, they should always be considered as part of a holistic envelope. Therefore, our systems are also available with fall protection, wall and roof daylighting and rooftop solar PV solutions, as well as a number of specialist fabrications that can improve both the energy performance and overall aesthetics of the building, such as flashings, top hats, aperture units, louvres and insulated preformed corners and guttering.

As a Group, we take this system approach further with Kingspan Facade Systems and Kingspan Light + Air daylighting and ventilation solutions. By choosing components from a single manufacturer, it is possible to limit installation issues and reduce waste.

Technical Services

Over the years, we have built up the sector’s largest portfolio of technical support and services, organised around the way property investors, architects and construction teams do business. Alongside technical product data, designers and contractors can also receive fast and reliable project-specific support from our Technical Teams, including:
• NBS specifications
• Thermal performance analysis and U-Value calculations
• Acoustic performance calculations
• Solar Photovoltaic calculations
• Lighting design and energy demand calculations
• Wind and snow loading calculations
• Spanning performance advice
• General design and compliance support

Meanwhile, our field services team can provide onsite advice and training, as well as a construction detail checking service to ensure minimal heat loss.

Accreditations

All our UK manufacturing sites have implemented:
• ISO 9001 – Quality Management Systems,
• ISO 14001 – Environmental Management Systems
• OHSAS 18001 – Health and Safety.
