A roofing project case study from Kingspan
A 500,000ft2 distribution facility at Liverpool International Business Park in Speke was constructed for discount retailer B&M Retail, to supply its fast growing network of 400 high street and out-of-town stores across the UK.
The 15m high building, which was designed by DLA Architectural Practice and built by Eric Wright Construction, took just 34 weeks to build. In addition to speed of construction, it was important that the new facility had improved thermal performance beyond the basic building regulations requirement, so that the occupier would see future economies in heating design and energy consumption.
FK Construction, the installer contracted for the project, was able to quickly achieve a highly insulated building envelope by installing a range of products from Kingspan Insulated Panels. Trapezoidal Roof panels with integrated Kingspan Day-Lite Trapezoidal rooflights and membrane lined insulated gutters for a complete roof system. Micro-Rib and Curvewall insulated wall panels from the Architectural Wall Panel range were chosen for the walls to give the building a clean and modern aesthetic.
