A roofing project case study from AJW
The challenge
The Roofer was faced with numerous tasks on this project. He had to strip back horse hair that had been used under the rotting battens. He then had to re felt and batten with NHBC approved felt & batten.
After the roof was watertight, Dan re-slated the middle section with the existing slates (welsh Westmooreland green). On the hip end we supplied Vermont Green (American) 500 x 250 Slates which were colour matched and sorted by Michael (Area sales rep from AJW)
The solution
The solution was 6 weeks of hard work, the roof had to been completely refurbished. By installing new lead valleys, painted Dorma windows & lead hips it gave the roof a fresh and vibrant look.
The new slates will weather down to match given the fact that there are numerous trees surrounding the stables. This will help weather down the American Slates.
The results
The customer and roofer were incredibly pleased with the end result and in due course we will be doing the same for the opposite side of the stables.
The roofer for this project was Daniel Holmes Roofing. Please contact your local depot for their details.
