Each year we invite our employees and their families along to a fun-filled Summer Party.

This year we had planned an outside inflatable-focused day of fun; however, the weather wasn’t on our side due to high winds, so we had to change our plans at the last minute to activities which could be done inside. Although a little stressful at the time, this did not dampen the day’s mood, with some of the team saying it was the best summer party yet.

The party started at 2 pm, with everyone arriving and heading to the bar for a well-deserved drink. Our summer parties are to thank the team for all their hard work throughout the year.  It is also an excellent way for the team to spend time together. Everyone rarely gets to socialise together as our six depots are spread across East Anglia. So this is the perfect excuse to catch up, have fun, and meet new faces. Just over 100 people attend this year with their families, which is fantastic. We are so grateful that our team give up their weekends to come and spend time with the AJW Family.

The day wasn’t as structured as usual due to the weather, but it worked so well. We had our usual entertainment from Jezo, who got everyone involved in the various activities, as you can see from the pictures. Everyone loved the game ‘Tug-of-war’; to say the teams were competitive is an understatement!

Every year we ask our team to vote for their colleagues for a number of awards. This is a great way for the team to celebrate each other’s achievements and it is such a privilege to have such a wonderful team working at AJW.

The food this year was just amazing, we used local caterer ‘Boxed Events’. The level of catering for the day was incredible, everyone commented how delicious it was, with everyone being extremely impressed. We would highly recommend them for any event you need a caterer for.

Thank you also to Jezo and his team for ensuring we had the most wonderful day and to the suppliers who ensured we had a great day. This is the first year we hired a photographer, which I was so glad about as it meant the pressure was off for us to capture the day. Take a look at a selection of wonderful pictures below…
