Foxton Football Club

Our External Sales Rep Ada pictured on the left is also a manager at the club says:

“Foxton Football are proud to have the name of AJW Distribution on the front of their football shirts. Foxton football club is a family-run local football club with the Cambridge family name at the heart of it. O started playing men’s football for Foxton at the age of 16 when my stepfather was the manager. This is where my successful career begins along with many other local lads that have moved on to Semi-professional and full-time professional footballers. We are currently playing in the Cambridge Premier Division where we are hoping to push for some silverware this coming season. Although we are a village club we try and do things as professional as we possibly can and having sponsors like AJW is key in helping with that.

We have previously had many successful years at our club and this is something that as the manager I am trying to bring back now.

Without companies like AJW that support grass roots football, I am sure we would be in a different position than we currently are.”

Mick Pratt – Foxton FC Chairman:

“With over 100 years behind us, Foxton FC has a history of producing quality sides competing at the highest level our facilities will allow.

With an award-winning playing surface, we encourage youth-level players to progress through the Reserve XI and establish themselves within the First Team, some of whom move on to senior amateur status.

It is an absolute privilege to chair the hardest working committee in Cambridgeshire composed of former players and managers, life-long supporters and even current playing staff.

We actively promote an atmosphere of inclusiveness, competitiveness and fair play to make Foxton Football Club the envy of many a club in Cambridgeshire.”

Cambridge RUFC

The “Blood & Sand” were formed in 1923.  The club currently competes in National League 1, the third tier of English rugby, making it the leading club in the Eastern Counties region.  We play our home matches at the 1,250 capacity Grantchester Road ground “Volac Park”, in the suburb of Newnham, approximately1 mile south-west of the city centre.

The club runs three senior squads: the national league squad, a development squad, and a social squad. At junior level the club runs one of the oldest mini and youth rugby sections in the country, starting back in the early 1970s, with a colts team for under-18s, and 3 girls teams.

A number of our players, we are proud to report, have gone on to gain International Rugby honours, being Dickie Jeeps (England and British Lions), Andy Hancock (England), Bob Steven (Scotland), Trefor Evans (Wales), Ben Spencer (England) and Alex Goode (England) who played all of his junior rugby at Grantchester Road.
