This charity was put forward by Sarah after the death of her husband, her son decided he wanted to become a paramedic and his ambition is to fly with EAAA and so it was a very fitting charity to raise money for.
Over the course of the year the AJW team have taken part in a number of fundraising events.
A team of 5 AJW colleagues took on the open ‘Yorkshire Three Peaks Challenge’ on the 9th September. The team consisted of Dave Weare, Tom Woods, Harvey Ferries, Sophie Wood and Donald Goldsworthy-Ellson.
A few weeks later Dave, Donald and our Finance Director Kevin Patrick completed a 100-mile bike ride.
We have also run a number of events at our depots including an Easter egg basket raffle and games at our AJW Roadshow back in June, where we played ‘no-beer pong’! This was a great success and the winners won some amazing prizes which had been donated by our generous suppliers.
We also had our annual golf day where we raised a phenomenal £11,012.83! This was made possible from the sheer generosity of our customers, suppliers, those who donated prizes for the raffle and items for the auction and everyone who bought a raffle ticket. Without this support we would never raise such an amazing amount of money.
Last but not least we launched our very first AJW calendar, this was such fun to do and we are so very proud of everyone involved. We still have a few calendars left if you haven’t purchased one yet and would like to, please contact your local AJW.
With this all said we are very proud to announce that the grand total raised for EAAA is £15,698.08! Daisy Rivetti, Corporate Partnership Lead at EAAA, said: “EAAA is a charity providing life-saving critical care 24-hours-a-day, 365 days-a-year by air and road. From road traffic collisions to cardiac arrests to medical emergencies, our specialist doctors, critical care paramedics and pilots bring the advanced skills, equipment and medicine directly to people across East Anglia in the fastest time possible. We receive no regular government funding and rely on the community to support our service. We are so grateful for the support from AJW Distribution over the last year, their incredible fundraising is able to fund four missions.”
At AJW, raising money for charity is just part of what we do, with Alan Woods as our CEO he has always been so generous supporting local charities and this is now reflected in the amount we raise each year for our chosen charities.
Thank you again to everyone who donated and helped us raise this incredible amount.
Keep an eye out for our Charity of the Year 2024, to be announced shortly…
